Travel Essentials

Travel essentials are one of the most important things when you are packing/planning your trip. The essentials help you with your plane ride, day-to-day activities and if you become sick. These tools can help you feel less stressful and getting you feeling better.

Healthy Essentials

  • Medication. Sometimes we get excited and forget to bring it. DO NOT put this in your check-in bag!
    • Nexum: If you have acid reflux like I do, I was recommended by my doctor to get this. I definitely have to have this on hand because I love trying new food and some are a little too spicy for me.
  • Vitamins. Climate change and exposure to new environments can weaken your immune system. Your body can go under stress and jet lag. I would recommend started taking the vitamins several days prior to vacation, if you do not take vitamins on a regular already. Vitamins can take several days to get settled in your system. Here are some of the vitamins I recommend:
    • Vitamin D3 – Sports Research D3+K2
    • Vitamin C – Emergen-C
    • Elderberry – Havasu Nutrition
    • Liquid I.V. Electrolyte
  • Tea: Yes, tea is in the hotel. Nonetheless, I like to have it for the plane ride. I like peppermint tea because it helps settle my stomach. I would also like to suggest Digestive Tea if you need help (if you know, you know).
  • Water Bottle: The water does not come quick enough for me on the plane, so I like to fill up at the airport. I get dehydrated too quickly.

Clothing Gear

  • Compression Socks: Helps with swelling.
  • Comfortable shoes: Find some cute comfortable shoes. Some travels require a lot of walking.

Miscellaneous

  • Lysol/Purell. Wipes and hand sanitizer: The tray on the airplane is dirty.
  • Headphones. Noise cancellation headphones.
  • Power Bank/Universal Adaptor
  • Passport Wallet Organizer: Game changer once I got this.
  • Packing Cubes: Keep your suitcase organized and separate clothes based on outfits/outings.
  • Toiletry Travel Bag: Keep this in your carry on just in case you may need it between long flights. However, some airlines have a small kit for long plane rides.
  • Airplane phone holder: Depending on your Netflix subscription, you can download movies. Even though some airlines have movies and TV shows, you can catch up on your favorite shows just in case airlines does not have it.
  • Apple air tag
  • Pocket mirror
  • Book/Journal: Something to do on your journey. Document your journal and upcoming adventures.

These may appear to be a lot for some, but I have found out this works for me and other people who I have traveled with. I have been sicked several times and had to find a pharmacy. I tried my best to be prepared. You can buy travel size or travel containers, so it does not take up too much space.
